So how does it work?
Micro-Needling creates controlled micro-injuries in the skin, these then stimulate the body’s natural wound healing response which initiates the release of natural growth factors to improve collagen formation and cellular tissue. Improved collagen formation assists in rejuvenating the epidermal (lower) layers of the skin resulting in significant changes to the skin structure.
There are three phases involved in the wound healing process:
Phase 1 (Inflammation phase) - the piercing of the skin triggers a response in the immune system which disinfects the micro-wounds, increases blood flow and initiates new tissue formation.
Phase 2 (proliferation phase) - A new network of blood vessels develop in addition to wound rebuilding involving new granulation cells
Phase 3 (Remodelling Phase) - The wound is replaced with new blood vessels and dermal tissues.

What to expect
SkinPen Precision Micro-Needling can sound scarier than it is! It’s nothing to be nervous about and can give fantastic results after just one treatment. Your skin therapist will carefully assess your skin and explain the treatment beforehand.
During treatment the SkinPen is carefully glided across the area of concern and creates hundreds of microscopic puncture wounds, some redness and heat will occur and you must avoid touching the area for 12 hours afterwards. Post-procedure homecare products are included in the treatment price and should be used to soothe the skin and reduce the redness. Specific post-procedure advice will be given at the time of treatment.
